FUTURE MATTERS, DESIGNTO FESTIVAL 2024

Future Matters is a group exhibition, by the Design TO Festival, featuring the work of eight local and international artists and designers exploring themes related to material expression, innovation, and environmental sustainability.

It runs from January 19 - May 21, 2024 at 235 Gallery, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto.

I will be showing ‘Lungs of the Earth’(originally shown at the Red Head Gallery, Toronto, in 2018 and then in 2019 at Centre Pompidou, Paris, France).

Lungs of the Earth is a series of Petri dishes with decellularized maple leaves cultured with human lung epithelial cells. This piece was conceived and created with Dr. Ryan Hickey & Dr. Andrew Pelling at the Pelling Laboratory for Augmented Biology, University of Ottawa, where I was Artist-in-Residence.
